When Marantz announced its SR5004/6004 series of A/V receivers last year, home theater enthusiasts were very excited about the prospects. If you know anything about home theater, you could spot the quality of these products a mile away and it was no surprise that the praises and the good reviews kept coming in. However in the last year’s line there were some important features missing, such as the OSD overlay or networking for streaming audio. Fortunately though, Marantz didn’t settle and wanted to offer even more to its costumers with the new SR7005 3D 7.1 A/V Receiver.
The Marantz SR7005 is definitely a must-have. It offers support for the latest technology such as 3D TV compatibility and HD Audio. The SR7005 offers upscaling and upconversion with the help of its Anchor Bay Technologies ABT2015 chipset, Audyssey equalization for HD audio such as Dolby True HD, DTS HD, unavailable in previous AV receiver models from Marantz.
The Marantz SR7005 is a networking receiver that comes with a built-in media player to stream music and internet radio. The USB input on-board lets you connect your iPod for access to your portable media. Other technologies found in this 1KW AV receiver form Marantz are the 32-bit Sharc DSP from Analog Devices, MultiEQ XT PRO room equalization, DSX processing, Dynamic Volume, Dynamic EQ and six HDMI 1.4a inputs.
The Marantz SR7005 will be available in August for $1.599 and comes in black, silver or gold.
