Sony has displayed six brand new 3D Blu-Ray recorder models in Japan. These new Blu-Ray recorders from Sony, aside from being 3D-ready, support the BDXL format, meaning discs with 100GB storage capacity and they just need half a second to be ready to go, after pushing the ON button.
Sony’s BDZ-AX1000 and BDZ-AX2000 are the stars of this series and they come with 1TB and 2TB storage capacity respectively. Both models will feature Digital TV Tuners, DLNA support, two HDMI ports, a memory stick/SD card slot and are equipped with Sony’s CREAS PRO chip for improved picture quality.
There are also more accessible models with only 320GB and 500GB storage space, coming with two digital TV tuners and featuring DLNA support.
Sony will start selling all these devices in Japan on October 22 (the 2TB model will go on sale on September 29). The devices will come with price tags between $1060 and $3190.
