Panasonic unveiled at this year’s IFA in Berlin a new 3D-ready Plasma TV, model GT20. The GT20 (known as GT25 in the US) is Panasonic’s plasma TV for Europe, a more affordable option to enjoy Panasonic’s 3D image quality than the high-end models VT20/VT25. Panasonic will also offer 2D to 3D conversion with the GT20 model for the first time.
The Panasonic GT20 has a similar design structure as the popular G20 model with added 3D capabilities, THX picture mode, 600Hz sub-field drive and a contrast filter. The GT20 model also features a time-shifting option, usually encountered on the high-end Panasonic models, which will allow you to record or pause Live broadcast for later viewing.
Panasonic GT20 also provides access to the internet through Panasonic’s VIERA CAST feature, Youtube videos and Twitter will be just a click away. More services will be added later says Panasonic. The DLNA support and Wi-Fi feature will allow users to stream 3D content wirelessly or import videos, music and pictures from their personal computer or laptop.
Panasonic GT20 will be available in 42-inches as the TX-P42GT20 and will not come with 3D glasses. The product doesn’t have a price tag just yet.
